This memorial website was created in the memory of my daughter, 
 Laura Kathleen "Katey" Winfrey who was born in Columbia, Missouri on
 August 16, 1987 and passed away on February 14, 2006 at the age of 18 due to a drunk driver.  We will remember her forever.
Laura Kathleen "Katey" and Kelley Lynn Winfrey were born on August 16, 1987 to Ricky Dean and Mona Lucille Winfrey.  They joined an older sister Cassandra Caye "Cassie".  Katey and Kelley enjoyed softball, basketball, track, and swimming.  They were inseperable for many years.  Into the teenage years they drifted to different friendships and yet stayed very close to one another.  They would fight and argue as sisters do but they
would look out for each other.
Now that Katey is gone, Kelley seems at some times lost without her twin.  We all miss Katey so very much I don't think the pain will ever go away.
Katey could "run like the wind" is what they said when she ran the bases.  She would give her heart and soul to anyone that asked for it.  If she had only one drink of water left, she would give it to you.  She was so very generous and loving.  She would bring me little treats and trinkets that she would find.  The last thing she gave me was a sand dollar she found on the beach.  I will treasure it always.
